150th Anniversary
In 2026, we will celebrate 150 years since Mothers’ Union was founded in the small parish church of Old Alresford, Hampshire, by Mary Sumner, a young vicar's wife with a bold vision.
Key anniversary events announced by Mary Sumner House so far are:
150th Celebratory Service - St Paul’s Cathedral, London. 10th June 2026 at 5:00 PM
Annual Gathering - The Emmanuel Centre (next to Mary Sumner House). 11th June 2026, 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Coventry Diocese 15th Anniversary "Thank You Lunch" at Berkswell Reading Room on Friday 22nd May at 10am to 2pm.
This is an opportunity for us to give thanks for Mothers' Union members, past and present, and for all God's abundant blessings over Mothers' Union 150 years. Revd. Denise has kindly offered to lead the worship and, as this is an extra special occasion, hats or fascinators would be much appreciated. More details to follow shortly.
Kenilworth Lions Grand Show on Saturday 13th June
Kenilworth Deanery is having a stand at the Lions Grand Show on Saturday 13th June. It takes place in the Abbey Fields 12.30-5.00. We will be running children's activities, a plant stall, a display on MU work and cards and gifts for sale.
Mary Sumner Day Service at St John's, Kenilworth
Mary Sumner Day, 9th August. There will be a service at St John's at 6.00, preceded by a cream tea at 5.00. All welcome.
We will also be planning more celebrations and activities within Coventry Diocese. More information will be added here as plans evolve.
